We are excited to announce the awarding of our 3rd of 5 Investigator Grants to Dr. Helen Willsey, PhD of the University of California, San Francisco! Her project is titled, “The Role of Kansl1 on Cilia” and plans to use Diploid frogs in her research. The three aims of this project are: determining the role of Kansl1 in cilia form and function; test whether expressing human Kansl1 can rescue the cilia phenotype; and test FDA-approved compounds for rescue. Establishing the role of Kansl1 in cilia form and/or function will be critical for all aspects of KdVS research, present and future. Congratulations Dr. Willsey! We are so excited to see what comes out of your frog research!
This $52,000 grant is made possible by the generosity of our wonderful community and the Kool Kampaign.
