DonateHow did you feel when your child was first diagnosed?
We were devastated but also relieved to have answers.
What does your KdVS individual love the most?
He loves books. He could sit and look at books for hours. They have a hard time getting him to do different stations at school because he just wants to sit and read.
How does KdVS affect your child?
He is developmentally and intellectually behind his peers. We also struggle with a lot of respiratory illnesses.
What is the hardest part about being a KdVS parent?
There are always challenges to face. Whether it be finding services, battling insurance, health issues, ect. There is always a battle to fight.
What would you tell newly diagnosed parents about KdVS?
That the days do get brighter. Those first few days, months, and first year can seem really dark and daunting but they do get better. Maybe not easier but better. KdVS kids are so happy and bring such a joy to everyone they meet. They can find the joy in the littlest things.
