Shannon Thol

Research Committee

Shannon Thol was born and raised in Colorado and has lived all over the United States. She has a BS in biochemistry from Colorado State University, a Masters of GIS from Pennsylvania State University and a PhD in biology from MIT. Shannon has extensive research experience, having studied everything from protein biochemistry, to reptile ecology, to ecosystem service models. She is currently an applied science and learning specialist for a global conservation organization, where she applies innovation methods to drive learning and develop conservation strategies for the benefit of all life on Earth. Shannon has two children Ivan (born 2010) and Kool kid Maia (2015). The three love to hike, swim, camp, read, and spend time with their menagerie of animals! Shannon is excited to be part of the Research Committee and help advance the KdVS Foundation’s mission.
