Blake Ivers

Blake Ivers grew up in Michigan and has always had an interest in the healthcare field. He graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI with a bachelor’s degree then earned his master of science degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. During the course of his education Blake was involved with several medical research labs, becoming co-author of a number of published articles on sleep apnea. He is currently the IRB Coordinator for Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in Jackson, MI where he manages the protection of research participants for all new and ongoing research projects at the hospital. 

He met his wife, Tammy, at Wayne State and they married in 2019. They welcomed their first child, Max, to their lives in the summer of 2020. Max was later diagnosed with Koolen-de Vries Syndrome at 19 months. Blake joined the Foundation several weeks after Max’s diagnosis to connect with a supportive community and to utilize his research experience to play an active role in advancing the understanding of KdVS.
