Neal Deremer

Board Member

Neal grew up in rural Nebraska working on his mom and dad’s farm until he enlisted into the US Air
Force in 1990. While in the USAF he traveled around the world working various assignments in the IT
and Communications field. His assignments included Italy, Germany, South Korea, Texas, The White
House and Nebraska. While stationed in San Antonio, he met and married his wife Leslie where they
welcomed their children, Ethan and Evan. In 2011 Neal retired from the USAF and began his career as a
Network Engineer, he currently works for Travel and Transport in Omaha. Besides being newly
appointed to the KDVS Foundation board, Neal is also the Vice-Chairman of the Nebraska City Airport
Authority and Zone-5 Lt Governor of Nebraska District-Optimist International.

After suffering many years of unexplained health issues, Ethan was finally diagnosed with Koolen-de
Vries Syndrome at the age of 15 while the family lived in Nebraska City, NE. With improved research
and diagnostic methods that the KDVS Foundation supports, Neal is optimistic that other Kool Kids will
get diagnosed much earlier than Ethan.
